We are currently seeking a dedicated professional to become a full-time instructor for our two year associate degree Ophthalmic Medical Technician program located in Denver, CO.

SUMMARY
Instruct and implement the Ophthalmic Medical Technician program to educate students in accordance with the curriculum standards and objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree from an ICA (aka CoA-OMP) accredited Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or an otherwise recognized training entity (e.g., hospital-based program) as an Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT).

Must be Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) certified as a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) or certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) and approved by the medical director to have the appropriate knowledge level to instruct in courses covering systematic disease, eye diseases, pharmacology and surgical procedures.

Three (3) years occupational experience as a certified Ophthalmic Technician - COT or Ophthalmic Medical Technologist – COMT, and / or three (3) years teaching experience in the subject field.

A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for those instructors who did not graduate from an accredited Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) program.

Must hold current license, certification or other designation as required by local, state or federal laws to work in the field.

Fante Eye & Face Centre is a premier Denver-based Oculoplastic surgery practice with an emphasis on providing excellent patient care and state of the art technology. We serve both cosmetic and medical patients with a variety of surgical and medical concerns.
We are seeking an ophthalmic or medical technician with a solid foundation in the field who will thrive in our growing, high volume two-physician practice. A reliable team player with a long term goal to stay at the practice is optimal.
Duties will include patient work-ups, including history, vision testing, and external imaging; additionally, patient care triage, in-office surgical assistance, administrative tasks, and excellent communication abilities are integral to the position. The ideal candidate will possess initiative, exceptional organizational skills, maturity, willingness to establish relationships with patients and fellow employees, and will feel comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment. To meet the demands of our growing practice, the position will require occasional travel to satellite clinics.
Fundamental background knowledge of human anatomy, medicine, and medical office protocols is required. Ophthalmic/medical technician experience is very much preferred, but we are willing to provide subspecialty training for the optimal candidate who best fits in with the culture and standards of excellence within our practice.
